Golden Valley Human Services Fund

The Golden Valley Human Services Fund (HSF) plans and holds fundraisers and events to help raise money to meet previously identified human service needs in the community.  Since the HSF’s inception, $1,251,020 has been allocated to agencies.   Its 12-member board also advises City Council on the allocation of some funds.  The HSF meets 6:45pm on the 2nd Monday of each month at Brookview Community Center, and its  goals are to:

  • Identify the community’s needs for human services
  • Determine strategies to provide funding through:
  • Charitable gambling proceeds
  • Fundraisers
  • Or, community events
  • Develop guidelines to evaluate funding requests, and
  • Allocate funds to human service organizations that meet those needs

For 2011, the Golden Valley Human Services Fund allocated $43,500 to the nine local human service organizations listed below on the GV city website in the amounts identified.
